Enjoy the Diverse Beauty of this 14 Mile Scenic Trail
The Rail Trail is conveniently located next to Topsfield Crossing in downtown Topsfield. The 4-
mile section of trail which runs from Topsfield to the Wenham line is called “The Topsfield Linear
Common” and is part of the larger “Border to Boston” trail which when completed will extend from
the New Hampshire border to Boston.
The section of the Rail Trail which travels from Topsfield center north to Pye Brook Lane in Boxford is
a compact grass and dirt surface.
The section of the Rail Trail which travels south from Topsfield Center to Lowell Street in Peabody is a
packed stone dust surface.
Although the connections to sections of the Rail Trail north of Pye Brook Lane and south of Lowell Street
have not yet been completed, the 14-mile multi-use scenic trail is a gem to explore.
